Song Notes:
I wrote this song many moons ago. It was the break up of Charles and Diana and the global press was all over the story. I was standing in a grocery store checkout line when I saw one magazine with the headlines "House Divided". I thought it was a good line so over the years I started to piece together the lyrics. I wanted to capture the working through side of relationships so that's why I wanted a more animated, frazzled, rocked out musical setting.
I originally recorded the song in Los Angeles with a songwriter/producer who was to complete my EP when I was away teaching in West Australia. Unfortunately he had a recreational habit that prevented him from finishing my recordings.
My friend Jim Duchesneau and Brian Hermanson provided me with the studio and gear to let this song finally live. I'm grateful as this one, as most of my songs, are labours of love. I'm so pleased that even as a demo that original energy I had felt for the song is still intact. Thanks again Jim and Brian.
